The National Report on the State of the Environment and Use of Natural Resources (further – The National Report) is compiled to inform yearly on actual environmental conditions within the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and taken improvements.

The following information is attracted in the National Report on State of Environment and Use of Natural Resources: 1) on quality and quantity characteristic of environment and natural resources; 2) anthropogenic impact including main socially significant environmental concerns 3) on environmental situation in the regions; 4) on implementation of state policy in the field of environment and use of natural resources.

The State and local executive bodies provided the information to compile the National Report.

Indicator values describing interrelations of environmental conditions and social indicators are provided in the National Report. The selection of indicators is selected by the best world practice and recommendations of relevant international organizations – United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Indicators are presented by groups:

1) atmosphere air;

2) climate change;

3) water resources;

4) biodiversity;

5) land resources;

6) agriculture;

7) power industry

8) transport;

9) wastes.

The interactive version of the National Report is presented at in three languages: state, Russian and English.

The Republican State Enterprise of Information and Analytical Center of Environmental Protection of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized and synthesized data for the National Report.

The interagency task force was formed to develop the order of information provision and making an optimal structure of the National Report by Order of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 43 dated on the 27th of January 2015.
